A recent addition to Danny's Family of beautiful music CD's. Only one year after his award winning CD "Something To Remember" debuted.
Go To Hawaii Music Award's Results and Hoku Nominations
Danny has once again arranged an exceptional album for our enjoyment with a Compilation or Anthology of some familiar songs. This one holds a touch of nostalgia, reaching back with a feeling of those days-gone-by. Allowing us to recall a few of those songs and feelings that we remember and cherish. Those sung by a very young and talented artist, which even then, drew in hoards of listeners. But this time re-recorded, or refined and produced with Danny's ear for perfection to achieve the finest quality available. Lead and Backup vocals by Danny accompanied by live orchestration, including the famous pianist, Pierre Grill on keyboards, and Anela Kahiamoe on slack key. Some of these songs laid in the shadows, awaiting the release of this album for their time to shine like a star (Hoku). Perhaps those songs hold special memories of an earlier time, a simpler time...
Not only for us but also for Danny himself. "A trip down Memory Lane".
Danny will also be returning to the present once or twice so we can hear some brand new compositions as well. Certain songs of Danny's are always requested. Music holds the magic of love, "Aloha" so transport yourself back "Then", to an earlier time and take the Journey along with Danny as he takes you back through his career via the "Magic" Aloha of his music, and be captivated by his voice and his songs all over again.
Once more I have the honor of bringing Danny's New Project to the attention and ears of his fans through our Fan Appreciation Site. What better way to touch the people that appreciate Danny's gift than instantaneously through the world wide web?
The clips below were debuted/featured as Danny requested, taking you to the peak, or "meat" of each song ~ Mahalo Again for this opportunity. ~ Lea
Danny Spoke about his new CD
to me.. " I
know some of you have heard these songs before, many have not, but to redo
and put these in a particular order is very satisfying. This CD spans almost
Twenty Five years of recording and it is dedicated to those who started me in
the recording business, The Aliis, (the
very talented group I performed with)
the great promoter/producer Tom Moffett, and the late-great
Mr. Frank Day. Starting with songs like "Lady You're My Rainbow", and
"You Are The Best of my Life" which have been re-recorded with new
beats and backup vocals. Then on to the Late Andy Cummings and
"Waikiki" which was
never released to the public, only available on the I Love Hawaii CD at my site,
and sung at my shows. Plus
the song "I love Hawaii" which has been out forever.
Then on to a couple of selections from the "Almost Paradise" CD,
"Fallen" and a
new Hawaiian version of "Hakuna Matata". There are also several new songs, some surprises,
and a couple of Bonus Tracks which include two songs from Phantom of the Opera,
"Music of the Night" and "All I Ask of You" previously recorded on a
cassette, and now finally captured onto CD and dedicated to my Father,
Charles Couch, who has always loved these songs and encouraged me to record them,
and to Wayne
Harada, for his love of these songs. (Go to)
Waynes review and
Wayne Harada's Email talking about Phantom.
It was so wonderful to have the opportunity to re-record these songs, it brought back a time that was so unique in my life, with The Aliis. And that is a period I will NEVER forget! Bringing some songs which were originally recorded on a 16 Track (ie. "No Easy Way") which were bounced to a 24 Track to enable them to be digitally mastered on computer then on to the CD. "No Easy Way" is one of three songs, also including "Paradise" and "Can't Get Enough of You" which were tracks in progress prior to embarking on the great Magic of Hawaii CD. Out of these three I chose to add this one "No Easy Way" to this current CD.
I have included two selections of "To Where You Are". This song is so great that it deserves to be recognized as a separate song to do it justice, originally written by Richard Marx, Lyrics by Linda Thompson, sung by Josh Groban it has been added as a Bonus Track. Included also is the medley version I did with Kalua (Love Song from the 1952 movie classic, Bird of Paradise)
~ I hope you enjoy my CD ~ Danny Couch
