As we approach the EIGHTH anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember all that we lost as Americans and recognize all that we have witnessed about the character of America. During these National Days of Prayer and Remembrance, we honor those who were killed and their families, and we ask for strength and wisdom as we carry out the noble mission that our Nation began that morning.
The passage of time cannot erase the pain and devastation that were inflicted on our people. We will always remember those who were brutally taken from us.
And we ask God to comfort the loved ones left behind; their courage and determination have inspired our Nation.
We thank God for the unity and compassion Americans have demonstrated since September 11, 2001. The great strength of America is the heart and soul of the American people. And we will continue to help those who are hurting and need our assistance.
We pray that God watch over our brave men and women in uniform. We are grateful to them, and to their families, for their service and sacrifice. We pray for peace and ask God for patience and resolve in our war against terror and evil.
This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others. It will end in a way, and at an hour, of our choosing. "NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Friday, September 5, through Sunday, September 7, as National Days of Prayer and Remembrance. I ask that the people of the United States and places of worship mark these National Days of Prayer and Remembrance with memorial services, the ringing of bells, and evening candlelight remembrance vigils. I invite the people of the world to share in these Days of Prayer and Remembrance." ~ GEORGE W. BUSH

There are remarkable stories of crosses rising up from the ruins, rescuers came to pray at these crosses. This is the "Last Beam"
Dedicated to the men, women and children who lost their lives, twelve of which were personal friends and also brave pilots of the aircrafts (US Naval Academy Alumni). God Bless those brave people who gave their lives, and the heroes who responded to this dire emergency 11 September 2001

New York still bears the wounds of America's Most Devastating and Biggest Crime Scene,
they always will and will also never forget.
Take Back the Memorial - Never Forget September 11, 2001
GOD BLESS THE USA: WE HAIL AND FAIRWELL THOSE WHO LEFT US
Our family member, Victor LeonCavalo, native of Long Island, New York/ (Manattan Firefighter and member of the First Responders).
Besides being a devoted firefighter and rescuer, Vic was chosen to represent his department in the
2006 New York Firefighters Calendar, for the month of February 2007.
All proceeds from these sales went directly to aid the victims of 9-11 and the surrounding Fire Department Families, and first response units, who lost their loved ones when responding to this devastating tragedy. Besides Victor, his brother Anthony, and his father JD (now retired) we had several other distant family members as first responders at the disaster.
Thank God they all returned home safely
God Bless you all.

ARE WE REMEMBERING? Is your flag up, mine always is, good time to put it up if it is not! You Betcha.. ours is always up today at half mast!!!! Eight Years after we were stunned by an attack on our soil. The sad thing is after we all bonded together for some time after the attack and showed our patriotism and anger, it's been somewhat numbed with the passing of time. Please think and pray for those who are currently in harms way to defend our freedom since the start of this war. Please note: We lost The World Trade Center. Now proposed to erect the "Freedom Tower" (how long does it take to build a building? To respectfully repair the open grave in downtown Manhattan? "Freedom Tower Update: As the eighth anniversary of 9/11 approaches, construction of the Freedom Tower continues to move forward. Parts of the National September 11 Memorial, which will be located elsewhere??? on a 16-acre site, should be finished by 2011. The New York City Freedom Tower, which will stand 1,776 feet tall on the site of the former World Trade Center, is the work of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation. It will serve as a beacon of freedom, and demonstrate the resolve of the United States, and the people of New York City. Construction on the tower, which will have a cubic base, began in early 2006. Steel became visible aboveground in 2007, and by 2013 the building will be ready for occupancy - twelve years after the World Trade Center was destroyed by terrorist attacks. The site will also feature the Reflecting Absence memorial, which will honor the 2,986 men and women who died as a result of the terrorist attacks which thrust America, and the world, into war. Over 2,500 people died after the World Trade Center came crashing down to earth, and leaders vow they will never be forgotten." ARE YOU AWARE: "The agency that owns the space where the World Trade Center towers stood is freeing itself of the term "freedom" to describe the signature skyscraper replacing the buildings destroyed on September 11, 2001. The One World Trade Center skyscraper is expected to be completed in late 2013. TWELVE YEARS AFTER THE FACT, who's forgotten? ARE YOU AWARE? DID YOU KNOW??? The change from the name Freedom Tower was revealed Thursday March 27, 2009 at a news conference where the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced the signing of the first commercial lease in the building to a Chinese company. The building is expected to be completed in late 2013. "We've referred to the primary building planned for the site as One World Trade Center -- its legal name and street address -- for almost two years now, as well as using the name the Freedom Tower," said Stephen Sigmund, a spokesman for the Port Authority, in a statement released to CNN. "Many will always refer to it as the Freedom Tower, but as the building moves out of the planning stage and into full construction and leasing, we believe that going forward it is most practical to market the building as One World Trade Center." ISN'T THAT ALWAYS THE WAY? MAKING MONEY first and foremost? 'One World Trade Center', ISN'T THAT JUST A FUZZY P.C. TERM?? WHAT DO YOU THINK, Kindler and Gentler? or just a slap on the wrist of the terrorists that have been boosted and gratified now for EIGHT YEARS by seeing the open grave of our people who perished for the last 8 years on no change at GROUND ZERO? Personally I think a message banner in the bricks of the permanite building should be able to be read from miles away saying "OK NOW JUST TRY IT AGAIN, LOVE, THE BIG APPLE AND THE USA" possibly lit up at night like the Twin Towers Beacons! FYI, how long will we have to wait? Compare to construction info Groundbreaking for the World Trade Center took place on August 5, 1966. The North Tower (1) was completed in December 1970 and the South Tower (2) was finished in July 1971. Empire State building 27 months from architectural concept to completion--the actual construction time was 1 year and 45 days! Statue of Liberty, took 21 years to be transformed from an idea to a copper and steel statue gracing New York City's harbor. The Sears Tower was begun in August 1970, and reached it's full height on 4 May, 1973. It opened for business later that year, but was not fully completed untill 1974. Eiffle Tower Construction was started on January 26, 1887 , and was completed on March 31, 1889, so it took two years, two months, and five days. Building the foundations required just over five months. Trump World Tower is a residential skyscraper New York City. Construction began in 1999 and concluded in 2001. The Pyramids 30 years There is a mathematical problem with the above 30 year answer. If you do the math there are 10,950 days in 30 years. If there are 2,300,000 blocks in the largest pyramid, that would be putting in 210 2 1/2 ton blocks a day! I don't think that rate is possible. That doesn't take into account the time to get the site ready and start up the construction. So, they it may have taken 30 years Taj Mahal The construction of the main building of the Taj Mahal lasted nearly 22 years, from 1632 to 1653. However, its two outlying buildings (one is a mosque) were completed in 1643, and the main mausoleum was finished in 1648. We talked about lowering our flags to half mast earlier today on a forum I partake in, doing so in respect and reflection. When my husband, family & I went to Ground Zero in 2004, (it hasn't changed much since then, by the way) no-where did we find a place for memorials or comfort for the visitors to place mementos to their lost loved ones, no place for family members to reflect, except posting on the fences surrounding the open grave (which contained the construction or destruction within, which ever you term you prefer), the pillars that held the elevated tracks (above-ground subways) were filled with tokens of love, one on top of another, some faded with age. Not one cross or other religious display or place of comfort or even a bench was present, except for the "last beam" within the ruins AND my biggest peeve, All the flags were flown at full display... why? Can someone answer me this question please? This is sacred ground no? In respect? Even the USS Arizona and the USS Utah flags fly at half mast as the norm on any given day. (out of respect) <---
---> These were taken at Ground Zero at the entrance to the only public display available at the scene of the crime. This stucture only displayed future plans for Ground Zero at that time. "The replacement towers" Mind you.. The only tribute pics or representation of the day of horror, were hung on the fence and pillars surrounding the site! Sad

BAYONNE, N.J. (AP) - At 100 feet tall, the bronze sculpture on the Bayonne waterfront is hard to miss. The massive memorial evokes the World Trade Center that once sat across the Hudson River. Jagged lines divide the monument into two tower-like pieces, and a 40-foot steel teardrop gently hangs in the open center, like a bell.
On September 11, 2006, fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Russian artist Zurab Tsereteli dedicated his 175-ton work, which sits on a former military base, past the entrance to a cruise terminal, at the tip of a peninsula. The Statue of Liberty is just across the water. The names of the people who died in the 1993 and Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks are etched in granite, in slabs that will form an 11-sided base. "From here if you looked at the trade towers, they looked as if they were blended as one," Tsereteli said through a translator, his 28-year-old grandson Vasili, pointing across the water. The artist,Tsereteli said the tear symbolizes "sadness over grief that will become happiness in the future when terrorism is defeated."
