People (from Funny Girl). Originally performed by Barbra Streisand. Funny Girl, The title track of Barbra Streisand's fourth solo studio album which was released in September 1964. was a newly recorded version of the hit song from the Broadway musical Funny Girl in which Streisand starred. The show included one of the great stage standards “People (Who Need People)”. People and Funny Girl made the show a tremendous personal triumph for Streisand, who received an Oscar for Best Actress when she repeated the role in the 1967 film version.
Barbara Joan Streisand sang in the school choir with Neil Diamond. It’s written Streisand "The most influential mainstream American pop singer since Frank Sinatra."

She will be inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
