Many of you are already acquainted with Danny Couch from his affiliation with The Aliis; But for me..
Introductions
are usually difficult, this one is not!
The following is my personal explanation for the reason I developed this site. Although Danny was/and is instrumental in supporting my desire to launch/run this site, he has not injected his own comments or opinions.
There are only a few things that come your
way during your lifetime that you can say has had an impact on you directly.
Music is one of those things that whether you partake of it yourself, or live
vicariously through the talent of someone else, can make an impression that
will last a lifetime. As an example, how many times have you caught yourself
humming a tune, embedded in your mind for days? Why does that happen? Perhaps
due to the impact it has had on you.
I have been fortunate to have been touched by the sound of a voice. Not my own,
of course, but that of a very handsome, talented gentleman who has been blessed with a voice
unlike any I have heard prior, or since. Singers have the ability to change
everything with a simple turn of the phrase or note sung. And it can mean different things
depending on whether it's one singer or another saying the same thing. Imagine
how many people have said the word, "Baby" and how many different meanings it's
taken on.

My intentions for this site originated by the fact that my love for music in general was affected by a handsome stranger who took the microphone one Christmas Eve at a Karaoke Night, and sang the most the most beautiful and moving rendition of "Oh Holy Night" I had ever heard. To this day I am still moved each time I hear it and truly believe no one can surpass his version. I am a big music fan in general, and enjoy listening to a variety of styles. However, music, and a voice had never moved me like that before, as though touched by an angel, nor has it had the impact of this musical introduction. Who is this singer with that powerful voice? I had been to Hawaii for thirteen years prior and never appreciated, or really listened to the music until I met

With this site I want to express how
that singer opened a door to the secret Mecca of Hawaiian Music for me, and
didn't even realize it. There upon adding to the mystique of this wonderful but
almost (at least to us mainland-dwellers) unknown wealth of artists, hidden
there in Paradise. Danny says "There are a lot of big fish in a very small
pond." Thus the reason for so much talent compressed into such a small area.
Talent indeed! I guarantee that others have also been affected by Danny's talent,
it's hard not to be once you hear his magnificent voice.
Since the
decision to launch this site Seven years ago, I have heard from many stating
somewhat the same thing I experienced,
and for good reason. Although an immense site, I felt it necessary to develop this site for Danny's
fans, those who have a common interest in an uncommon musical style. If you're
like me you want to know as much as possible about his talent, and about the
music of "These Islands". I cannot
believe how protected the music seems to be in Hawaii. It is almost impossible to get
their music stateside, without hunting down and ordering on the Net, or special
ordering through a handful of companies or independent artists directly. Why in fact
wasn't there a Hawaiian
Music Category at The Grammy Awards until these past couple of years? Has someone forgotten that Hawaii is indeed
a state? A state which produces extraordinary talent! Has this talent
been
overlooked?
All genre of music is featured with awards given to many "foreign" categories,
why not Hawaiian? Both instrumentally and Vocally.. It comes right from home.

Danny opened my eyes and ears to beautiful music, Hawaiian style. His voice never fades and it seems to become stronger and truer every time I have the opportunity to hear him sing, there's no doubt that Danny is Hawaii's Favorite Singer with his angelic tenor voice, and perfect pitch. After purchasing his Cd's they have become fixed items in my players, and I am always asked.. "Who is that singing?" I'm very happy to be able to give them a card and invite them to this site to become familiar with this beautiful voice. I do so not to promote or sell anything, I do it to provide a chance for them to see and hear this talented man. Something I wasn't able to achieve when first I heard him, and craved to know more.
I am still asked "what singers does Danny sound most like, or who would I compare him to?" I can only say that although Danny does perform some compositions from other well-known artists, (he sings everything from sultry love songs, to rheumatic salsa and even opera) this does not mean he "sounds like" or "emulates" any of them! He has been compared to other famous artists, but Danny's diversity enables him to sing and perform certain selections that he loves, and with his gift of an ear for perfection, makes them his with his touch of perfection. This is accomplished without categorizing him or comparing him to others. He has his own sound, his own delivery with his own talent and range. To say he sounds like anyone else is to do an injustice to his talent. He literally is able to sing anything and do an outstanding job, from opera to rock! This artist continues to please with his incredible vocal range and perfect pitch as well as his individuality. It's a thrill to see his audience's reaction to his music, and for me to continue to be pleasantly surprised each and every time he takes the stage. Every performance is unique, whether it's the first time you've seen him in action or the one-hundredth. He touches each one in his audience, he is not just a singer he's an Entertainer
Danny obviously loves Entertaining and that he does... as he states..
"It truly comes from my heart, it comes from my soul, I give it Everything I have."
Why the peculiar name.. Fanaddicts?

(Short for Fanatic)

A person possessed by an excessive and irrational zeal. Implies the pursuit of a
given interest to lengths that are considered inordinate and even irrational,
and often in the exclusion of virtually all other interests or to limits far
beyond those considered wise or proper by the majority.
Definition of The Word “Addict”
To devote or give oneself habitually or compulsively. One who is devoted,
dutiful, faithful, devout.
When you are called a “Fan” you realize for the first time that you possess
these traits. Therefore I went a step further and adorned the term a bit; I
affectionately named this site and those who frequent it..
The calling to develop this website was more than I could resist when the idea perked, nine years ago. The answer is "No" I've never done a website before. But with all the interest I saw in Danny, and the fact that there had not been a Fan Related site online prior to this one, and his last Fan Club was twenty years ago. I chose to develop this site, and present it to Danny with my goal on my sleeve, and I'm honored to say it is
The Original Fan Site and Fan Club and that both have been very successful.
As Fanaddicts we have continued to monopolize the Server Broadband and our number of visitors is staggering. Actually beyond anything I ever imagined, I'm pleased and proud to say, ~Mahalo.

has "Fans" all over the world, I'm proud the majority are calling this site home
and by your constant feedback; I see you enjoy the information provided. People are finding out about Danny Couch,
that was my ultimate goal and was/is my reason for starting and
continuing this site for his fans and friends.
I developed this site as a tribute to my favorite performer/singer. Although working long distance, I enjoy researching, buying, receiving and
posting items/photos/memorabilia on the site which are original and pertinent to Danny's career,
both from "Then~ and ~Now".
Thanks to this site I've been fortunate to have become friends with many very special people who
support and aid me in my quest. Those numbers continue to grow. With their
help I attempt to
bring the most interesting, and most current approved information possible to
you, Danny's fans without being invasive, and in an entertaining and
professional manner.
Our pages are unique for a reason, to keep your attention and to entertain the web surfer. We have built our Lyrics Library from scratch, listening to songs directly from Danny's Cd's, records and tapes. Many of these painstakingly acquired just for this reason, with Ideas and Photos done for each lyric. Several of these were used in Danny's Cd linernotes I'm happy to say. I have several copies of Danny's first Albums/45's/tapes/first releases/posters which were produced in limited numbers and are no longer available as well as collectable photos. Some donated by DaMan himself, and some I've contributed to his private collection. This has continued to be a hobby as well as research, and a joy to attain. I personally ask that none of my research material be used on other websites for this reason. All items have been researched by me, shared with fans for educational value, are covered in my copyrite. I thank you for understanding the work that has been devoted to bring you this website.
My goal remains the same today as it was at the time it was conceived, to be as accurate as possible, be non obtrusive, and have information which is okay to feature and yet respect Danny's and his familie's privacy.

I have had the privilege of meeting Danny and I have seen him perform many times in Hawaii. It has been, and continues to be an incredible reward for me. Little did I know at the time of launch that I would be honored with having helped Danny debut his brand new Cds online, now having been asked to also debut his latest, the FIFTH release successfully debuted and now featured. "Danny Couch Sings The Great American Classics" can now be heard, seen and supported. For me, It was an overwhelming joy to be witness to Danny receiving his Hoku Award for Best Contemporary Album of the Year, and to again attend the Hoku Awards in '03, '04 and '05. A deep hurt touched my soul when I was unable to attend the Hoku's in '06 (His Christmas in Hawaii CD is extra special to me) Such special opportunities are difficult to portray in the pages of this site! He's a very handsome man, inside and out. A great performer, a wonderful talent, and very personable he has a heart of gold. Someone I'm happy and very proud, to call a friend! I'm very pleased and honored to be designing and hosting this web-site bearing his name. I am proud to say it has been previewed personally by Danny, and he approved and continues to support it's launch.
MY MAIN GOAL: I have enjoyed Danny's music for several years now and I decided when I met him, that I want to do something in return for both him, and his fans. I want to provide an avenue so other people can hear his music, know his face, and get acquainted with one of the best kept secrets from this neighboring and yet distant land. But most of all be able to find his music and information on his performances. All in all, be a very small part of the excitement of his incredible and outstanding artistic career.

So where do I get my sources, my images, my sounds, and so on? A lot of time and hard work goes into this site. I do now have a large article and image library of my own thanks to Danny and others. I ask that you not borrow what I have worked so hard to collect, or post on any other website without our written permission and full credit. All Photos are Watermarked and protected with copy write.
What I post on this site is provided by research and passed by Danny for verification and authenticity prior to launching. Danny provided written permission to use his name, photos, videos, music, information, updates and interviews.
I'm proud to say, I do not use other sources to gain information.
Although supportive, Danny does not inject his own ideas, comments or opinions to this site at any time.

INTENT: I intend to maintain
it's truthfulness and integrity as well as protect Danny's personal privacy at
all times.
Foremost and most important.. This website does not divulge information that he chooses
not be made public.
We continually encourage accurate and timely information from those of you who
feel like you can provide this. Please send an email if you would like to share
something with us. Positive comments, words of encouragement, update
information, error reports, etc... These are all things we would like to hear
from you. Together we have and can develop "our" site to it's fullest.
We never divulge/post information before Danny is aware of it.
I welcome other fans to participate: I have to thank the generous donations of several site friends, as well as Danny and his company of “Friends of Danny Couch” past and present for their help. His newest release Danny Couch Sings The Great American Classics is a step out of the norm for Danny, the "hardest CD to produce to date". This Cd shows what Danny is truly able to produce with his multi level talents, and will surely be one CD that remains in the stable of Greats!

Originally (2001) when I contemplated doing this site and was in discussion with Danny to build the finished product, I was approached by someone bearing numerous photo albums, requesting to feature their photos on my site when they found out I was contemplating starting one, which I did happily, allowing full publicity and credit for these beautiful shots... having treated as if my own with a paid copy- right taken out primarily for their protection. I received other photos claiming they were "Taken for Fanaddicts, and passed by (okeyed by) Danny prior to MY use" (my stipulation) but with the amount of work involved, lack of support, that quickly dissolved when I figured out they were donated for self-gain, notoriety, and profit after one year of displaying them on my site (as if a catalog, they were then launched and were/are sold without notice) with not as much as an acknowledgement or a thank you for having featured any! Unfortunately to date, six years later, there is also constant public self praise/credit being solicited by this other fan site owner, for getting my website approved. At the time our arrangement was based on mutual friendship and respect, there is no credit to be given to anyone, except to Danny for previewing my site and enjoying it, thus giving the go ahead. Since there has never been acknowledgment/mahalos for featuring these photos on my site, although website(s) have been published/deleted/and republished, our arrangement no longer exists since this lack of reciprocation showed no gratitude for starting it. In fact constant attacks are made publicly about Fanaddicts through forum sites and other public websites/& well known online radio station, including documented badmouthing via other public sources. Yes there is another "Fan Site" in fact now there are several. All by the same person, our former photographer. Thus the reason why a few of the photos contained are not my own, and you may see them elsewhere. I do have written permission to use what few are posted ever since our launch. I keep them up as a courtesy, of a promise I made at the time and can proudly say never turned my back on, credit has been/is given along with many thank yous.
The last photos launched here were photos donated/sent unsolicited by me, from this person claiming "amends were being made". The photos are posted on this page with credit given as normal procedure. Nothing since has been added nor will it.

After six going on seven years of various/and numerous public attacks (vendettas) made against my site, myself and even my family, the most common one has been being accused PUBLICLY of using photos without permission. This is un-true! I am posting as requested by my attorney, the signed/written agreement we made, to substantiate publicly, my position as rebuttal, in this and other claims continuously being made by this person, as proof of deliberate defamation, both privately and publicly.

is the same place that the porn site posting had taken place several months ago
which was emailed to music artists by
Aloha Joe. (more items listed there) I
need to now add a listing which was on Frappr.com which was pointed out to me by one of
my visitors, and which I found by using Frappr's search engine. I am VERY UPSET
at what I found.
This posting had used several of the photographs I have at my private and copy
written website, the photos are protected by copy write and other means of no
copying allowed. This person lifted/stole my photos off this website, defaced my personal property,
by inserting
detrimental and obscene comments onto them and then posted them on a separate Frappr
site for all to believe these comments came from Fanaddicts. Admin traced The IP
address and removed the page!
Due to copy write infringement and deliberate defamation of the reputation of a famous
celebrity! The IP address was permanently blocked and apologies sent to
management.
