"This is something completely different for me.. This was the hardest CD I've ever done in my life! But it was something I had to do, I grew up with my mother loving Hawaiian and Country music, and my father loving The Classics. So I could not pass up this opportunity. I can always go back to Hawaiian, which I will, but it would have been a travesty to pass up this opportunity, because I wanted to at least do justice to the Great American Classics, the greatest singers on the planet ~ I had to. I hope that everyone enjoys this CD."

Some say "they don't write great songs anymore like they use to in the past," What exactly are “The Standards”?

We all know them as the classic songs from the 1920s through the early 1950s, from the great jazz bands and Broadway Musicals of that era. Like those composers—Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, Hoagy Carmichael, Harold Arlen, Jerome Kern, Sammy Cahn, Kurt Weill, Duke Ellington—are legendary, and as recognizable as they were fifty years ago.
The standards are rooted mainly in jazz, “America's greatest contribution to world culture.” But some have even come from rock ‘n’ roll; the Beatles’ “Something” and “Yesterday,” for example, come to mind as pop pieces that already have stood the test of time, to become tomorrows classics.
