Ann Kanahele's visit to Chai's Island Bistro and Danny Couch's Show Oct. 09

Thank you for the updates on Danny and his activities. I look forward to any information about him. My name is Ann Kanahele, a senior citizen, and a long time resident of Hilo. I first became familiar with Danny and his wonderful singing when I heard him on the radio his past year. I fell in love with his voice and did go on his website to learn more about him. And lo and behold I discovered that he was the lead singer in the Alii's CD. That CD has been my favorite for many years---now I know why. I will be in Honolulu next week and will be going to see Danny's show. I am really looking forward to seeing him perform in person. Mahalo

I got to see Danny at Chai's two Saturdays while I was in Honolulu and thoroughly enjoyed the show and actually watch him perform. His personality shines out so clearly. I delivered the hugs you sent me to give and he accepted it so graciously and happily. When we went back the second night, I told him that I had to come back again and he was so happy because he said that nothing makes a performer more than to have fan return again. If I were able to stay in Honolulu longer I certainly would have gone back again. He was having so much fun with the audience the second night. Forever Danny

He really needs to know how much his fans adore him and enjoy his performances. Only wish that he was more visible--with more opportunities to watch his performances and listen to his CDs on radio. I took some pictures (my treasures)

Larry's Trip. This was very late at night. Danny stopped by the lounge after his show and a lot of rehearsal. He took a picture with me even though he had a very bad headache. I did not see any of Danny's shows this trip but I did go look at the new luau garden. I talked to Danny and took a couple of pictures at his meet and greet. I will send them to you. I might have already told you this. I used to bowl with the Bank of Hawaii League back in the 70s and 80s. Our teams were mostly Bank of Hawaii employees, but some had 'friends' on their teams, too. Danny was a member of another team and he was just the nicest person to talk with at the bowling alley. I always enjoyed when we bowled his team. It was enjoyable to chat with him on those Sundays. I never knew then though that he was also an entertainer. It wasn't until one of the bowling banquets - at the Hale Koa - that I learned he even sang. He was the emcee and sang for us. That's when I found out that he was a recording star and entertainer. My fondest memories are still from Waialae Bowl, though. ~Linda from Honolulu

Our visit to Hawaii the end of June 2001 to celebrate my husband's parents 50th Anniversary. We also celebrated our girls 16th and 21st birthdays and our 25th Anniversary. It was a vacation 2 years in the planning. We left with four of us from Illinois and a stop in Minneapolis to pick up two more and then onto Hawaii. We stayed at the Hale Koa and of course we had to experience a luau and so that is when we discovered Danny Couch's wonderful voice and showmanship. We got an autograph for our parents CD one of our own. I listened to "Almost Paradise" just about everyday on my 3 mile walks. It takes me back to the Island as much as possible in Southern Illinois. Now I have added "Something to Remember". That is how we came to know about the talent of Danny Couch and hope to some day go back. Aloha, ~Laurie
